2026 Subscriptions Now Open!! Limited Availability
Subscriptions will run from August 15 until October 3 (8 weeks). Should frost shut us down early, you will be refunded for the missing weeks. Your subscriptions help us purchase seeds and bulbs for next season! Thank you!
A small weekly luxury — grown right here in the north.
There’s something about fresh flowers — soft petals catching the morning light, the breathe-in deep floral notes mingling together. The happiness at having a bit of our fleeting summer on your table.
At Bloomstead, we grow seasonal flowers right here in Thunder Bay so you can bring that feeling home each week.
Our 8-week flower subscriptions celebrate the most stunning blooms we can produce in our short northern growing season — dahlias, lilies, lisianthus, and heirloom chrysanthemums.
These are flowers you’re unlikely to see in grocery stores so we hope you’ll meet a new-to-you bloom or two each subscription. Our hope is that our bouquets feel a little bit like discovering a secret garden.
How Does The Flower Subscription Work?
After a fantastic trial last summer, we are opening our subscriptions up for 8 weeks. Each week on Saturday morning, your bouquet will be available for pickup or local delivery. Local delivery will take place on Saturday unless alternate arrangements are made. You can gift your weekly bouquet to a friend or whomever you choose. Just let us know who is picking up.
Pickups are available at our urban farm (near Shuniah St. and Huron Ave. close to Boulevard Lake in Thunder Bay) or at the Saturday market (watch for location details via email or socials). You’ll get the best our garden has to offer each week, without the wait, without having to rush to the market to see what’s left. Our farm is small, so we aren’t able to duplicate dozens of bouquets — our bouquets are always a little bit bespoke.

What’s Blooming In August And September?
Because we have a short growing season, we appreciate the fleeting beauty of flowers all the more. Each month brings something new from the garden.
August – The cool season blooms are finished so we say goodbye to stock and early lilies. The garden reaches its peak in August with armfuls of zinnias, china asters, dahlias, lisianthus, sunflowers, african marigolds, gladiolas, rudbeckia, forget-me-nots, bells of Ireland, feverfew, and other seasonal fillers.
September Rich autumn colours arrive — deep burgundy dahlias, happy sunflowers in oranges, yellows, and reds. We will have beautiful cottage-garden romantic heirloom mums to pair with seasonal autumn foliage through Thanksgiving and as long as we can.
